This mini-grant product provides eligible homeowners in the Town of Truckee with a $1,000 grant to assist with costs associated with constructing a new ADU or JADU; converting existing living space to an ADU or JADU; or permitting an existing and unpermitted ADU or JADU.
Requirements for the mini-grant are as follows:
- Requires Applicant to secure a building permit and Certificate of Occupancy for an unpermitted ADU or Junior ADU from the Town within 12 months of grant approval.
- Grant funds released upon submittal of building permit, Certificate of Occupancy and receipts for work or fees up to $1,000 within the grant timeline.
- No repayment of funds required and there are no rental requirements.
- Once the unit is permitted, mini-grant recipients may apply for the Lease to Locals Program, but not the $25,000 Loan.
