NOTICE OF BOARD VACANCY
SEEKING VOLUNTEER TO SERVE
Truckee Tax Measure Citizen's Oversight Board

HISTORY:
In 2008, Truckee voters passed Measure V extending a sales tax for road maintenance and construction in Truckee; in 2014 Truckee voters passed Measure R creating a sales tax for trails maintenance and construction; in 2022 the taxpayers approved Measure U that will begin as Measure R sunsets October 1, 2024; and in 2020 Measure K passed as a general tax that is currently used to support the affordable housing needs in Truckee. As part of the passage of these measures, Truckee voters mandated an annual review, using an independent citizen oversight committee for all the Measures proceeds spent. The Town is seeking individuals to serve on the Truckee Tax Measure Citizens Oversight Committee. The Committee will meet as many times as is necessary to provide a recommendation to Council regarding the Measures expenditures. Typically, this occurs the first quarter of each year. It is anticipated that the commitment from each member will be between four and eight hours a year.
