The Truckee Town Council approved the 2025 Truckee Dirt Trail Grant Program (TDTGP) on January 28, 2025, allocating $750,000 in funding to support the planning, development, construction, and maintenance of dirt trails within Truckee.
This grant is funded through Measure U, a dedicated sales tax supporting trails, multi-use paths, and bike lanes to enhance connectivity in Truckee.
Who Can Apply?
Nonprofit organizations, homeowners' associations, and government entities with relevant trail development experience are invited to submit proposals for projects identified in the Truckee Trails & Bikeways Master Plan (2015). Eligible projects may include:
- Planning & development of dirt trails
- Construction of new trails and associated trailheads
- Key trail amenities, such as signage, maintenance stations, and accessibility improvements
Key Dates:
- Call for Projects Opens: February 3, 2025
- Application Questions Due: February 19, 2025
- Project Nominations Due: March 14, 2025
- Committee Recommendations to Council: April 22, 2025 (subject to change)
