TART Connect

TART Connect is the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe region’s microtransit service. TART Connect serves all areas of Truckee, providing free, door-to-door, on-demand rides. Users can download the TART Connect app to enjoy the ride-share service or call 530-553-0653 to request a ride. The TART Connect app is available on both iOS and Android.

The service operates from 6:30 am to midnight during summer and winter, and 6:30 am to 10 pm during fall and spring months. For more information about this program, current schedule, service areas, and connections to regional transportation services visit the Tahoe Truckee Transit website.

This safe, reliable, on-demand service is a great tool for our visitors to enhance their Truckee experience and eliminate some of the anxiety of driving in a new place.

About the TART Connect Microtransit Pilot Program

Various iterations of the Truckee TART Connect Pilot Program operated from June 2022 through July 2024. The pilots were planned to evaluate the community's acceptance and utilization of TART Connect in a fiscally responsible manner to determine the long-term viability of this type of on-demand transit service. The Town of Truckee used the Pilot Program to  explore this type of unique transit service as an investment in important infrastructure and community connectivity for our town as a long-term mobility solution.

The Pilot Program exceeded expectations, carrying over 175,000 passengers in the first 12 months of operations. TART Connect has complemented our fixed route and Dial-a-Ride services to significantly increase the use of public transportation in Truckee.

We want to thank our community and visitors for embracing and becoming familiar with the TART Connect service. We cannot truly evaluate and trial these types of new initiatives if we don't have an interest and openness from our community to test them and give us genuine feedback.
